Joseph DaProcida, esq.
Joe DaProcida brings a unique blend of personal and work experience to Kule-Korgood & Associates. He has handled special education impartial hearings for seven years and has worked for 30 years as a successful litigator. Joe began his professional life as an NYC educator. In addition, Joe comes from a close-knit family who have advocated for the rights of a disabled family member for 60 years.
Joe’s experience growing up in a household with a sister who has intellectual disabilities gave him first-hand knowledge about the challenges individuals with disabilities, and their families, must navigate. His family’s steadfast devotion to his sister, and their work in charitable organizations that serve disabled individuals in NYC, is a source of inspiration and pride for him.
Joe’s first work with individuals with disabilities in the community was in high school when he served as a volunteer in a program serving teens and young adults operated out of Flushing Meadows Park in Queens, NY. Joe later served as a licensed social studies teacher in New York City Public High Schools for several years. That experience included instructing special education classes.
As an attorney, Joe primarily has held litigation roles, including over 14 years at a multinational law firm, handling securities-related investment disputes. Joe began practicing special education law while partnering on impartial hearing cases with Advocates for Children, an organization that provides free legal services to the families of children with disabilities.
Joe received his law degree from Hofstra University School of Law where he served on the Environmental Law Digest. He received his undergraduate degree from SUNY Albany.
Joe has teenage boy-girl twins and lives in Pelham, NY.
